Corporate Race Day
This is the perfect day to introduce your clients or staff to the excitement of sailing an offshore yacht.
Everyone gets a chance to try every aspect of sailing – helming, navigating, trimming the sails or manning the winches – all added to the excitement of competing against other boats.
Why not invite other departments or companies to join in?
So what will your day comprise of?
Let’s ease you in gently with a welcome tea or coffee and Danish pastries, followed by the very important safety brief and basic sailing introduction from the skipper.
The yacht will then motor out of Portsmouth Harbour into the Solent. You will soon be preparing to set your sails heading for the Isle of Wight. During the morning, sailing manoeuvres will be practised – tacking, helming and trimming and hoisting sails – as well as going through racing tactics.
At the end of the morning’s sailing, you will be rafted up with the other boats or moored at one of the many picturesque harbours in the Solent and a buffet lunch will be provided.
To slow things down a bit, you will motor into one of the many creeks, rivers or harbours that make up the Solent and a buffet Lunch, including wine, will be served on board.
After lunch, the excitement starts! The yachts race around a pre-set course to put into practice all the sailing skills they have learned during the morning.
The day ends with a celebratory drink and prize giving for the victorious crew at the Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club. |
